Tiny Mice Dress: o vestido da Sara

Quando a Sara fez um ano eu tinha um vestido pronto para ela. O Tiny Mice Dress da Puperita a quem já declarei o meu amor aos seus moldes anteriormente. 

Escolhi esta musselina dupla, ou double gauze, na loja portuguesa Maçãs d'amor e o toque é maravilhoso. Acredito que um bebé deve vestir-se o mais confortável possível e para isso contribuem tecidos como a musselina que é super suave, um tecido que respira e deixa a pele respirar ajudando a manter a temperatura certa. Dá para ver que fiquei apaixonada? 

When Sara did a year I had a dress ready for her. Tiny Mice Dress from Puperita to whom I have declared my love to her patterns before.

I chose this double gauze, from the portuguese store Maçãs d'amor and the touch is wonderful. I believe that a baby should dress as comfortable as possible and to that contribute fabrics like this double gauze that is super soft, a fabric that breathes and lets the skin breathe helping to maintain the right temperature. Can you see I'm in love?

 Quanto ao molde, é muito bom, como todos os que tenho usado da Puperita, detalhado e com um passo a passo bem fácil de seguir. Usei o tamanho 18 meses porque gosto que não fique justo e assim ela tem espaço para crescer. Embora nestas fotos tiradas hoje e não há um mês quando ela fez anos, aquela barriguinha já esteja mais apertada. 

Na versão "original" o vestido é forrado mas eu achei desnecessário neste caso por causa da estrutura do tecido e em vez de duas partes nas costas (peça de costas cortada ao meio e posteriormente cosida), fiz só uma peça e abri criando uma abertura para passar a cabeça. Botão lilás gigante, elástico e está feita a abertura. Uma nota: se forem coser musselina e resolverem fazer costuras inglesas têm de deixar uma margem superior ao habitual porque este é um tecido que em esforço abre e a costura vai desfazer-se. Aprendi isso da forma mais crua, por experiência. ;-) 

As for the pattern, it is very good, as all I have used from Puperita are, detailed and with a step by step easy to follow. I used size 18 months because I like that it has room to grow. Although in these photos taken today and not a month ago when she made her birthday, we can see that around that cute belly is already tighter.

The "original" version of the dress is lined but I found unnecessary in this case because of the structure of the fabric and instead of two parts  in the back (back piece cut in half and then sewn), I just created an opening to pass the head. I used a giant purple button, elastic and it's finito!

One note: if you are sewing double gauze and decide to use french seams you have to leave a margin higher than usual because in effort this fabric opens and the seam will unravel. I learned this the crudest form, by experience. ;-)
